Today marks another year of life for me as today is my birthday. YAY! I celebrate getting older even though my body and grey hairs remind me that I’m exhausted by 8pm and I really need to keep my hair colorist on speed dial! But as this time of year is also when Mother Nature displays her beauty in the trees and leaves, its the perfect time for me to reflect on my own internal changes. I usually set goals for myself and give myself a year to accomplish them. For this birthday year, I hope to accomplish personal and professional goals that will require laser focus and dedication on my part. My hectic life with managing kids, household, full time work and my side hustle can easily distract me or delay me from accomplishing my goals. I’m determined to meet the challenges and find new ways to overcome them. Wish me luck and by this day next year, I will be writing about how I succeeded in achieving my goals.

Fall is here which means chilly days and time to start layering up! I’m pretty short so wearing long sweaters is usually a challenge for me. I recently found this sweater at UNIQLO that was not only a great fit, but it was priced very nicely. I found this cardigan at Uniqlo and only paid $39. It’s now on sale for $29.90. I can’t believe the year is almost over. The season is changing, its getting colder, and the leaves are changing and falling off the trees. This means change. This also means a time of reflection for me. Every year, I set goals for myself that are personal and professional. It’s October and I realized there are some goals on my list that I have not accomplished yet. But, at the same time, there are some that I did accomplish. I’m proud of myself and the progress I’ve made in my blog and social media following. I’ve met a lot of people and I’ve made some connections. I look forward to building on these relationships and I’m excited to see where it’ll take me. In my personal life, its been difficult to learn how to balance the work/mom life. I’m grateful to have amazing kids and a wonderful family that support me. We still have a few months left in the year and theres no need to panic. I’m still motivated to accomplish my goals and it’s ok if I continue to pursue them in 2018. No biggie.
I’ve lived in NYC my entire life but I must confess, Brooklyn is like a foreign country to me. I walked around DUMBO and wow, this part of Brooklyn has changed a lot since I was a kid. It’s beautiful! Between the ice-cream at BROOKLYN ICE CREAM FACTORY, the THE CAROUSEL UNDER THE BRIDGE, and all the beautiful people walking around, I quickly fell in love with Brooklyn! Obviously I had to take pictures at the famous water street location. Enjoy the pics!

So I must confess…..I’ve never walked across the Brooklyn Bridge until today. I’ve lived in NYC all my life and yet there are so many places around the city I’ve yet to visit. So I’ve now set a goal to visit parts of New York that all the tourists come to see. There is so much to see in my own backyard. How about you guys? Do you live in a major city but haven’t really explored it? Where do my readers live?? Leave a comment on this post. Enjoy the pic’s.

I think I’m pretty lucky to live in the most beautiful city in the world. NYC can get under my skin sometimes but I’ve lived here all my life so I of course I love it. The skyline, the attitude, and culture can not be found anywhere else!
Comment below…. Tell me what city are you representing?

So I gave in to the ruffle skirt trend and I have to admit, I love it. I’m pretty short so its hard to find a long skirt that works for me. What do you think? Have you bought a ruffle skirt this summer? Scroll to the bottom of the page for some skirt options to achieve this look.
As a New Yorker, you get to experience all the seasons in one week this time of year. This week, I’ve worn a sweater, jacket, boots, and open toe shoes all in one week. Wearing this jacket from ZARA is the perfect item to wear when the weather is so confusing. I spent the previous weekend putting away all my sweaters and winter clothing.
I am totally loving the stripes and ruffles trend. The more the ruffles the better! But honestly, every time I tried one of those shirts on, I looked like a clown. How do some of the girls pull off the look and not me? No big deal…I found this more tamed look at Express at a reasonable price. Click on the links below for outfit details…..
